Before Foxy Red “Duke” became a member of Spring Valley Ranch, he was shown in halter at AQHA shows. His classic “bulldog” look, typey head, and correct structure enabled him to be a success in the show ring. As a result, his points in halter came from the Grand and Reserve Championship awards he earned in the show ring.
After coming to the ranch, Duke was trained under saddle and used for ranch work before making his debut in the breeding barn. In the breeding barn, Duke can cover a mare naturally or be collected for artificial insemination. The offspring he has produced have been beautiful, cowy, and hardworking ranch horses.

PJ has come home! Since his return, we have used him for sorting cattle and riding the permits to move cows. He has a great ground covering walk and has been very sure footed through rough terrain. He'll see more work this fall with gathering cattle off the permits. He's been a fun ride and easy to get along with. It'll be interesting to see what the future has in store for him!



Our breeding season begins June 1 and ends the July 31.
